Privacy Policy
Who we are
Don’t Open is an iOS app made by Rohit Saini (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how the app handles your information.
Information we collect
None. Don’t Open has no backend, no user accounts and does not connect to the internet. We never receive your messages, photos, videos or any other information, and we cannot see anything you create in the app.
What stays on your device
To work, the app saves the following locally on your iPhone or iPhone Duo:
- The traps you set up: messages, bait text, hints and Big Text.
- Reveal photos you take or choose.
- Reaction photos and reaction videos captured when a trap is opened.
- Your catches history and how long each person held out.
- App preferences such as theme, colour and default bait.
This data is stored only in the app’s private storage on your device. Your device’s own backups (for example iCloud Backup, if you have it turned on) may include it, under Apple’s privacy terms.
Camera, microphone and photos
- Camera: used to take reveal photos and to capture the reaction of the person who opens a trap. Capture only happens after a trap is opened, and the person holding the phone sees a clear on-screen “Camera on” or “Recording” badge.
- Microphone: used only to add sound to reaction videos. It is optional; videos work silently without it.
- Photo library: used to pick a reveal photo from your library, and (with add-only access) to save share cards and story videos when you tap Save.
You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Don’t Open.
Sharing
Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to share it. When you tap Share, the iOS share sheet sends the card or video to the app or person you pick, and their own privacy policy then applies. Please only share someone’s reaction with their permission.
Tracking, analytics and advertising
Don’t Open does not track you, does not use analytics or crash-reporting services, does not contain ads and does not include any third-party SDKs.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual catches in the app, clear all catches or reset the app in Settings, or delete the app to remove everything it stored.
Children
Don’t Open is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
